Originating from neighborhood house parties, Baltimore Club music is more often than not called house music. The common element of house music is a prominent 4/4 beat (a prominent kick drum on every beat, also known as four-on-the-floor) generated by a drum machine or other electronic means (such as a sampler). House music also uses a continuous, repeating baseline. Typically added to this foundation are electronically generated sounds and samples of music such as jazz, blues and synth pop, as well as additional percussion. All these elements fused with intangible essence of Baltimore, this genre has emerged from its house party roots and has become its own movement within music.
